Can you help me decide - 1st Birthday party related...
I know I'm not solving world peace or anything  but I am really having a hard time deciding on DD's 1st birthday party. I need to figure it out soon because I need to decide on invites this month so I can send then out after Labor Day-ish.
Can you help me decide? Halloween/costume theme or just a regular b-day theme (cupcake, elmo, etc..) Other fun themes welcome.
We will be having the party at our house on 10/18 hopefully in the backyard. Probably around 30ppl and around 10 kids.

She only gets one first birthday - the only time to do the balloons with the 1 and a theme that is kind of "cutesy", you can do a Halloween theme anytime (that was my thinking anyway).

I TOTALLY agree with Laura. You cant bypass her 1st by doing it Halloween. Maybe in the future but 1st b-day for sure...no costumes ; )

When you posted about it a few weeks ago, I was leaning towards the Halloween theme...unique and a great idea. But now, after thinking about it more...
It's a full 2 weeks before Halloween. So, I would do a regular first birthday. And then you'll get to enjoy Halloween 2 weeks later.

I think you should do a regular b-day theme this year as it is her first b-day. I would save the Halloween theme for when she is a little older and can actually enjoy it.

Since it's not the actual weekend before Halloween, I would do a regular "First" Birthday theme. I do like the Halloween theme idea too, and think it would be really cute, but since it's a couple of weeks before, I think you should do first birhtday theme and save Halloween theme for second birthday!

I feel the same way. Luke's bday is 10/27 and I feel we will have plenty of Halloween/costume parties in our future, but only one 1st Bday. We are probably going to have the party the day after Halloween, Nov 1st and I did for a brief second consider it, but decided against it. Good luck!

We are tossing this idea up right now...Oktoberfest theme or regular 1st bday too. I feel like an Oktoberfest is so different, yet are we missing out on first bday theme...we are puzzled too.
