Can you please share your form of discipline for your toddler .....

i am at a loss for an effective way to discipline my 2 1/2 yr old nothing seems to work and when he is throwing things or trying to hit his new baby sister i need to have an effective why to stop him ......

he has special needs so i have to approach things alittle differently but i still have rules and certain behaviours are not accepted ....

how do you discipline your little ones ?

We are trying to figure out how to deal with his temper tantrums as well. Depending on the situation, we use time out if he throws something but if he is just having a tantrum and screaming for no reason we ignore him.

My son is language delayed, and extremely stubborn. I have tried everything for the past year.... Time out is finally starting to work.

1 warning and into his room he goes. I don't have a set amount of time... I usually take him out when he calms down. (usually 30 seconds) If he hits again I put him right back in. I make sure I do it consistently, even a modified version when we are out.

yelling and time outs don't work with my 2.5 year old son....the only thing that seems to work a "little" bit is taking things away that he loves (like his Nintendo DS)
