Re: can you please tell me if these are good school districts

All of those districts are great.

Smithtown may be a little too far east, if you are commuting to the city.

You may want to look at Kings Park as well. It's one town West of Smithtown.

What train do you take?

I take the 6:47 out of KP and I'm at my desk in midtown at 8:20

see, hence why I would never take the port jeff line. When I lived in Smithtown, I would drive to the CI train station. The Ronkonkoma line is a lot faster. In NYC in 1:15 hours. If you are in KP, maybe drive to Deer Park. You'll def. save time.

Smithtown is more convient than KP. Its closer to major HWY's for the most part.

Exactly. I take the train out of Brentwood (ronk line) and it takes lless than an hour and ten, I think an hour and 5.

Most Smithtown residents do that. In fact all my train crew (I've been riding with them for 5 years now) lives in Commack, Smithtown, Ronkonkoma, etc and all take the Ronkonkoma line.. SO MUCH FASTER!

Wouldn't the drive take 10-15 minutes anyway?

Sorry - didn't mean to hijack Jessica!!

Re: can you please tell me if these are good school districts

no, you'll def. save time. Hop on the Sunken Meadow, you'll be at the Deer Park station in 10-15 minutes, but your train ride from Deer Park is exactly 1 hour ish. A LOT more convient. Even ask your neighbors. Most Smithtown residents do this. The Port Jeff line is soooo slow!! Plus, no expresses. To give you an example my 5:22PM train home gets into Deer Park at 6:25PM. Deer Park is the 2nd stop. Can't beat that

This is what I do from Commack. Also you have more trains to take if you take the ronkonkoma line because its electric out to ronkonkoma whereas the port jeff line is diesel after huntington.
