My old house was 8+ rooms covered in wallpaper, including CEILINGS and SWITCHPLATES. We knew we could not do it nor could we do it properly.
I used
Louis Ligeri Wallpaper Removing Specialist 1 Bayberry Ridge Roslyn, NY 11576 Phone: 516-365-7838/ 631-remover (736-6837)
I have rec them to many people who were super happy. Lou is a nice guy and a pleasure to deal with.

It's not that hard. I'm not as young as you guys, but I stripped wallpaper from several rooms this past year, plus removed several borders in other rooms. Sometimes the paper comes off easily, other times it's a pain, but it's very doable by a homeowner. You do not need a professional.
Just speak to your hardware store about stripping and it will sell you what you need. I used DIF products. One I mixed with water and the other was a spray on gel, depending on where I was working. It's best to use hot water as recommended. Once the paper is soaked, it scraps off. Sometimes I had to rough up the wallpaper so that the stripping solution could soak through to the sub-paper.
