Can you post your 5 month olds feeding schedule?

I have started introducing veggies along with DS cereal within the last 2 weeks and now it seems he doesn't want as much BM. Is this normal or healthy??

I pump exclusively and he is getting five 5oz bottles a day along with 2 tbsp of cereal 2x's per day. Now that I have started the veggies he doesn't seem to finish the all the bottles. I want to make sure that he is eating what he is supposed to. Could you post what your LO's were eating at this stage?? TIA

My DD probably isn't the norm because she still wakes up so frequently to eat Chat Icon

But here's an approximate ( she'll be 6 mo. next week)

4 oz bottle every 3 hours or so ( even at night Chat Icon )

Breakfast -cereal (probably close to 4 tblsp) and 1/2 container of fruit

Lunch- cereal same as above but sometimes veggie instead of fruit

Dinner- cereal same as above with a veggie

When I am giving her the bottle after a solid, it usually is not a full bottle because its the remainder of what is left after I make her cereal with it...
Maybe he just needs them spaced out more ?? I usually wait about an hour or so after a solid to give the bottle, although some people do it the opposite Chat Icon

He nurses about 5 or 6 times a day, plus he gets 1/2 tablespoon of rice cereal and a little fruit mixed in for breakfast (around 9 am) and for lunch/dinner (he eats either b4 afternoon nap or after depending on his mood) he gets a 1/2 jar of fruit and 1/2 jar of veggie.

8:30am Cereal and Fruit

11:30am Bottle (6-7oz) - we're working on this feeding to incorporate solids and eventually convert it over totally to meat, veggie and a fruit

2:30pm Bottle (7-8oz)

5:30pm Cereal and Veggie

8:00pm Bottle (6-8oz)

***Sometimes, depending what her sleep schedule is like, she'll have one last 10:30pm feeding, but this is rare.

DD is exactly 5 moths and formula fed.

6 am 8oz bottle, usually drinks 7oz but sometimes takes all 8,like today,

10 am-4 tablespoons of cereal and half a container of fruit.

11am 6 oz formula.

3pm 6-7 oz formula.

7pm- 8oz formula with 1 tablespoon of cereal.

8pm bath and bed.

When I initially introduced cereal and then fruit, she would not intake as much formula during the day but now she is. She was getting 5-6 oz bottles a day about two weeks ago but I changed her bedtime from 9:30 pm to 8pm so she does not get the last bottle any longer, which is why I increased the amount of milk at each feeding to compensate. I am going to introduce veggies this week and give another serving of fruit and cereal during the day. HTH

7:30 am 8 oz

10:00 am 2 oz fruit or veggie and 1 tablespoon cereal. Followed by a 6 oz bottle.

1:00 pm 8 oz bottle or sometimes 6.

4:30-5 pm - 2 oz fruit or veggie and 1 tablespoon cereal. Followed by 6 oz bottle.

8 ish - 6 or 8 oz bottle.

She will be 5 months this week. Next week I am starting her on lunch too.

I also give her a zwieback in between.

Re: Can you post your 5 month olds feeding schedule?

DD will be 5 months on friday. I started introducing solids (cereal and most recently fruit) about 3 weeks ago but she is still getting used to it.

DD wakes up to nurse every 4 hours during the night still. During the day she nurses every three hours.

After her morning nap I give her Cereal and some fruit. (this is approximately 1 1/2 hours after she nurses)

Once she gets the hang of eating a little better I plan to feed her twice.. then three times a day.

It's hard to tell if she is taking in less when she is nursing, but she isn't eating that much cereal/fruit yet. I would think that it would be normal for DC to take in less BM/Formula with all of the solids though
