Can you recommend either of these gates

It's not for Jack - but to keep the dog in the kitchen since I am getting new rugs and want to make sure she doesn't have an accident on them.

TIA! Chat Icon

Re: Can you recommend either of these gates

We have the one on the right- the retractable one.

I like it because when we aren't using it, it doesn't take up space.

Re: Can you recommend either of these gates

Also - do both of these need to be mounted to the wall? I would like something that I could put up and take down as I please!

Re: Can you recommend either of these gates

We have the one on the left to keep Kaydyn confined to the living room and the puppy out of it. The only thing is b/c is doesn't mount to the wall it slides sometimes. And it depends on how big your dog is b/c our dog is a Golden Retriever and she is a puppy and if she was full sized and jumped on it...I don't think it would hold her weight.

I have the one of the left. I find it to be a pain because it doesn't retract. The gate pressure mounts into place.
For the price I think it is worth it but would definitely get a retractable this time around. But since it is for the dog, I think it will work fine.

I had the one on the left.
I think we still have it if you want it.

I didn't like it - cause I am short (5'2") and it was a pain in the azz to get over it if it was up Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can you recommend either of these gates

Does the one on the left have to be mounted to the wall - or can I just put it up and down as I leave the house? I feel like I have enough permanent gates around the house for Jack - I would like this one only for when I go out.

She is teeny (9lbs) and a big old wimp - I don't think she would ever try to knock it down Chat Icon

I doesn't have to be mounted to the wall. You can move it everytime.

I have the one on the left. Love it! Take it down all the time, very easy to use.

Sorry to hijack, but who makes the retractable one?
