Can you share with me how you weaned from EBF to FF if you did so b/f a year?
I am in the process of weaning DC. I am doing it very slowly - switched one nursing for one bottle of formula and then after three weeks added another bottle of formula. I am currently BF the first feeding and the last two of the day. I'm not sure how to go from here? How long to wait b/f cutting out another BF and which feeding to switch with the bottle. Also - I am finding myself still very full and not adjusting to the missed feeding as I thought I would. Also, DC seems to eat very little at the formula feedings in favor of eating more while nursing and the formula he does get seems to not sit all that great with him.
Any help wo0uld be greatly appreciated as I really don't even know if I know what I am doing here. DC is 7mos now if that makes a difference.

I'm not sure if you already did this, but when I weaned DD off of breast milk, I mixed the milk and the formula in the first few bottles to get her used to the taste. Your DC may be so used to BM and not the taste of formula so they might be noticing the difference. We started with a few days of 1/4 formula 3/4 BM, then gradually changed to 1/2 and 1/2 and then lower and lower amounts of BM in the bottle. Now DD drinks formula exclusively without a problem.

I'm curious as to your answers too - I'm not stopping BF yet but I do supplement with Formula when we go out - DD barely drinks any of the formula and then is hungry later. DD was fussy with the first formula we tried but per our ped we switched and she isn't fussy on the new one but just doesn't really drink much - 1.5-2.5 ozs rather than 4-5 ozs.

My doctor said to change one bottle from BM to formula every 3-4 days. The last one he wanted me to switch was the night one right before bed.

i weaned ds between 4-5 months. i cut out 1 feeding every 4-5 days and mixed bm in the bottle with the formula.

i never had a big problem with engorgement to begin with, but i was definitely uncomfortable. what i would do is pump just enough to relieve the discomfort. doing that made it take longer to wean, but i wasn't in any rush and didn't want to end up with mastitis...
