Can you tell your doctor when you want to stop working?
Or do you have to wait until they put you out?
Just curious, since I am on my feet alot and I'm not sure if I will make it right up to the end.

You should discuss it with your doctor. Some doctors will help you leave a bit early while others will only do so for a medical reason.
Just be aware that when you start your leave it can take away from your home after the baby is born.

Well I kinda did. I was having some complications and after discussing everything with my DH and the doctor he left it up to me. I decided to go out at that point- it wasn't worth it to me to risk anything. I also work on my feet for 13 hour shifts so I was really stressing my body. I went out around 30 weeks.

I actually spoke to my dr last week about this. I work in the city, and my office is in Rock Center. Penn Station is a nightmare to begin with and then when the ice skating rink and the tree comes here, I think its going to be just an ultra nightmare for me to go to work, so I asked my doc what he thought, and he said he'll write me a note whenever I want that I need to work from home, what my company does with that is another question...but he is open to me stopping when I ask him too

This is a conversation that I plan to have at my next appointment...I may want to either go out a week early or work my days on Long island rather than the NYC office.

I'm not worried about using my maternity leave all that much...
I was just wondering if doctors give you problems with this.
I guess, I just have to ask.

I spoke with my doctor about this and I said that the commute into NYC was taking its toll on me and she thought that I should stop two weeks before my due date. She basically left it up to me and told me to just send her the forms when I wanted to stop work.
My work has been really good about it and let me work from home last week, I am taking a few vacation days this week and will start my disability on Thursday (which is two weeks before my due date).
