Doctor said to stop working!
Ok, so I have high blood pressure to begin with and I take medication for it. Last night I went to the doctor for my 36 week checkup. I drove in that hurricane which I'm sure raised my pressure. When I got there, they hooked me up to a monitor wihich made me a little nervous because I never had that done before. The nurse said they do it because I'm over 35 years old and 36 weeks pregnant, so I said OK. The came the exam. She said take everything off from the waist down, hes going to start internals. I KNOW that raised my pressure!!! I was not ready for that! By the time he came in and took my pressure, it was high. He said to stop working since I only have a couple of weeks left. So my last day is Wednesday and I'm so nervous about not working. I've been doing it for so long and feel like I'm losing my identity.......I know I'm over reacting and should just be happy that I can stay home........

I thought I was weird because I felt the exact same way, like i was losing my identity. Just look at it as a temporary reprieve for a GREAT reason and you'll be refreshed and ready to work again when you go back (well, assuming you're going back).

I stopped working at 35 weeks and I feel the same exact way! I hate being in limbo like this! Everyone said to relax and enjoy - that lasted exactly a week! Now I am getting ansy and ready to get the show on the road!

Take it as a blessing! Enjoy the time to relax and take care of things without the added stress of work. Think of it as a well deserved vacation for your body before the little one arrives!

Re: Doctor said to stop working!
I know, I feel like I should just be greatful that I can stay home, I worked full time when I had my son because I was a single mom and now I have the opportunity to stay home for a while and I feel like I'm giving up a part of my life. I've worked for 21 years and now it just stops...I'm gonna miss having my own pocket money.. I should just be quite and count my blessings.........just had to vent. Thanks girls...
