I had a c-section, and was not allowed to wear a bra for the first day. It didn't matter much, since I couldn't get out of bed anyway...
I will totally agree with the whole "modesty going out the window" thing. There's nothing more pleasant than when the nurse comes in to push on your uterus to help the lining come out...and you're just hanging out all over...
LOL. I remember right after coming out of recovery and getting "situated" in my room............the nurse put a pad on for me, with all the ointments and watched me pee into that plastic container in the toilet. She then showed me how to use the water bottle to "cleanse" myself by spraying it into my hoo ha!!
OMG, how could I forgot the spraying of the hoo ha??!!!!
Oh my, something else to look forward to

Re: Can you wear a bra in L&D?
yes you can. i wore mine for about an hour of laboring but then i pulled it off because it was making me too hot. i was MUCH more comfortable without it.
i didn't put it on again until after I showered later that day

Re: Can you wear a bra in L&D?
I did. I delivered at North Shore - I was in no shape to be removing my clothing when I arrived and no one told me to take off my bra...

Re: Can you wear a bra in L&D?
I wore a nursing sleep bra the entire time I was in L&D. I ended up with a c-section & no one asked me if I still had it on. It did not interfere with any of the wires from the monitors.

Re: Can you wear a bra in L&D?
I delivered at Winthrop... For my first, he was a definite c/s because he was breech and they made sure I had no bra on! They asked me a million times.
When I had my DD, I was going for the v-birth, and I had on a wire-free sports type bra and I was allowed to wear it. You can see it in some of my pictures under my gown right after DD was born!
