My winter coat is done, so I thought I'd start looking for a replacement and perhaps get an end of season sale. I stumbled across this brand, and holy hell is it expensive (at or close to $1,000)!! Seriously, everyone I see on the street is wearing this brand. Do people really have that kind of money lying around to spend on a coat or is there a way to get it cheaper??????

You won’t find a deal on them, but they’re great coats. I missed wearing mine this year with being pregnant and needing a maternity coat instead.

A friend of mine got one on sale at Macy's for $400...this was about 4 years ago. You might find one on sale now...but they're still so expensive. Most of the people I know that buy them have jobs that require them to be outdoors a lot...like tv/film production crews in NYC all wear them, they're SO warm.

This company makes a killing - pun intended - by acting like the fur and feathers they use are sourced ethically. That’s their schtick and it’s why they are so expensive.
Do a bit of googling and check it out.

My bosses son goes to school in Boston. He said that all the international students buy these jackets and then DITCH them when they leave to go back home for the summer. Said that people wait outside the dorms and take them from the garbage at the end of the semester!!!!

Waaaaay back when i went to BU - a friend of mine stayed at the school over the summer and his job was to go through all the dorm rooms to clean them out of anything students had left behind. He and his friends (myself included because i lived local) got soooo much stuff from overseas students that left stuff behind!!
moving out day in boston (when the students leave) is a known thing! you can get so much cool stuff

I live in Boston and was going to mention this. Also, “Allston Christmas” in the end of August when everyone is moving in and out of apartments in Allston
