Can't find plus sized maternity suit... any suggestions?
ETA: CRAP... never mind. When I tried to add the suit I pictured to the cart, it told me it wasn't available. What a TEASE!
The search continues... do they not think plus sized preggos like to swim?!?!
I was a size 18/20 before pregnancy.
I'm in my 8th month (30 weeks) and up 16 pounds... almost all belly.
Do you think if I order a size 24 or 26 in this non-maternity suit it might work? I'm so desperate!
If not, do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks!
EATA: I'm going to try this one from Kmart. Yes, Kmart. It's only $24 so for that price, I'm ordering 3 sizes to try them out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Since I can't find a plus sized maternity swim suit, do you think this will work?
my concern would be the shoulders/bust area....but I guess you could sew them if they were too big.
I got a pair of swim shorts from Fashion bug (they have skirts too) and a bloused swim top I found on clearance at Target...there are straps, and a band around the bottom, with plenty of room for the belly in the middle...
ets - I bought about 2 sizes larger than I was prepregnancy...they are comfortably loose now, so there is room for me to grow through the summer.

oh my gosh.. love that bathing suit..
pre-pregnancy I was a 20/22.. I ordered my bathing suit in 24/26 and at 33 weeks, it finally fits! (it was way too big) So just be careful with how much bigger you go.

Re: Since I can't find a plus sized maternity swim suit, do you think this will work?
I think it will work. I was the same prior to getting pregnant. I didnt like what Destination Maternity had because I need a skirted bottom. I went to Sears and got a 22 skirt and a 24 top and they fit awesome. the top is a little bit too big in the bust area but I dont care at this point. I just wanted something cheap and big enough to contain my belly for the next 5 weeks!
ETA: I tried on a bunch of tops and bottoms at LB and they were ALL skin tight no matter what size I went up to there. Funny that the sizes in Sears were much more generous and half the price!

Re: Can't find plus sized maternity suit... any suggestions?
DS was born in July last year so I was huge come bathing suit season. I am also a 18/20 pre-preg. I actually ended up getting a tankini from Target. I think each piece was like 15 bucks or something. I have a big chest and it supported me fine and it was super comfortable and really cute. The stores have maternity sections so go check them out! HTH!

That's so funny you say that because I got SOOO disheartned last week when I tried on a bunch of suite at LB and they were all skin tight - in a bad way! Hopefully this Kmart one is better. If not, I'll also try Target. All I want is to be able to go in my parents' pool this summer if I want... not looking to walk a runway! lol.
Thanks for all the advice!
