go to Edmunds.com. I always use that site when car shopping. It will tell you what the car is worth.

Never buy sticker.

Also, never negotiate on monthly payment.

If you have a trade, don't tell them until you are ready to sign the deal.

if you tell them up front that you have a trade in, they will factor that into the price they give you on the car.

agree on edmonds. they will give you the value of the car, both retail, and wholesale/dealer cost.

on my car, we got them down to $200.00 above dealer invoice.

If you negotiate the absolute lowest price of the car naturally your monthly payment will be the lowest it can be.

If you do it the other way you will never know what the lowest price will be because you will only be thinking of the monthly number.

It's a sales tactic.

telling them about trade at the end guarantees you the lowest price of the car because they won't be able to factor it into the sale.

They hate this and I do it all the time.

As the PP said, I am usually successful getting the price down to invoice.

If you go onto Edmunds.com you will be armed with all of that info and you will be able to get the best deal possible.

I would also shop around to a few dealers and negotiate the best deal possible. If one offers a low number another may beat it. It's all good for you.

Blu-ize, I looked at the car that I want and on Edmunds it says the TMV is actually like 2000 below invoice!!! Have you ever heard of that?
