Car seat and plane question
Next month we will be going to Florida for the weekend for my brother's engagement party, and taking ds, who will be 9 1/2 months then, with us. My ? is, I know we will be using my bro's car down there, so do I take my car seat from here, and do I check it in the plane or what do i do? I don't want to use it on the plane, since for such a short flight ds can sit with us, and i don't want to rent a car down there w/a car seat, since we have a vehicle there to use already...thanks!

Re: Car seat and plane question
We checked ours last time we went to Florida...just remember to remove anything that can come off. I forgot to take his cupholder off and lost it.

Re: Car seat and plane question
We just went to TX two weeks ago. I bought a car seat bag from BRU for like $20...and I checked her car seat.
We had the same thing - family picking us up, sitting on our laps on the plane.
I did gate check the stroller, so DD could sit in that while we walked to baggage claim and waited for bags (also helpful prior to boarding plane)

Re: Car seat and plane question
You can just stick it in a garbage bag with your name on it and check it. It does not count for your luggage quota

Re: Car seat and plane question
Just remember that it isn't safe having DC just on your lap on the plane. There are several cases of babies being hurt during takeoff, landing, and turbulence. We never go anywhere without our carseats. They are the only seats that I know are set up properly, have no recall notices on them, I know the entire history (accidents, spills, damage, misuse, age, etc).
