Car Seat Check RIVERHEAD!!! 10/22
Rare opportunity for all you folks out east that never get to make it to CarSeatSafety (Chris) over in Hicksville.
Chris, myself and a few other car seat techs will be joining AAA in providing a FREE car seat check October 22 at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead as part of their Spooktacular Event.
FREE!
You do not have to be a AAA member.
AAA Car Seat Check at Spooktacular Nine out of 10 people have their child's car seat installed incorrectly. AAA will be holding a car seat check with certified car seat technicians at the Spooktacular Event in Riverhead from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Reservations are required for your fitting. Call 516-873-2364.
Did I mention it's FREE? It's free. 9 out of 10 car seats are used/installed incorrectly. Is yours one?

What do you have to lose having it checked????

Thanks for doing this! All our seats were installed by Chris, but maybe I'll put in DD's convertible seat so I can take advantage of this and not have to go out to Hicksville! Do the seats have to already be installed, or can we bring it uninstalled?

We will have to uninstall it so it really doesn't matter, just strap it in so it's not a projectile or put it in the trunk

I'm having the worst time lately trying to figure out how to tighten our Britax Boulevard straps, I feel like they're never tight enough on my girls....would this type of event help me with that??

That would be fabulous, thank you!
The seats are both installed already as we've been using them for months (1 is forward-facing, 1 is rear-facing)....is it ok if they're installed when we show up (since my kids will be in them?)...would they help me tighten them with my kids in there? It will be nice to meet you!
I love the Boulevards (I upgraded from Marathons) but find them SO hard to fully-tighten.  I stress about it so much!

You can show up with them installed. We prefer your kids there, actually, since we can go over proper fit and make sure the seat is the right one for the child etc

Great, thanks! I just made an appointment for both seats. It's so frustrating, because I know they're great seats (and not cheap!!) but I KNOW they are not tightened properly, though I do everything as "text book" as I can.
I am excited to have them checked! When I scheduled, she said she wasn't sure they'd check 2 seats since they're the same seat, but I told her one was RF and one was FF, so she said she'd book 2 appts.

Hahaha, I called this afternoon to make my appointment and the lady on the phone was like what is Long Island Families (they ask how you heard about the car seat check). She said they put out a ton of marketing about it, a AAA e-mail blitz, etc...nothing. All of a sudden whammo tons of phone calls originating from LIF!

The event is from 12-4, I highly recommend RSVP'ing- that line will be a lot faster to get in. eta- its Tanger 1- next to Tommy Hilfiger
