Car Seat Inspection (after an accident)
I was in a car accident yesterday on my way home from work. Kaydyn was not in the car. My car slid on some ice and I crashed into someone's retaining wall. I wasn't going fast, but the airbags still deployed b/c I hit the wall straight on. Is there somewhere I can go to see if there was any damage to my car seat? TIA!!

I'd get a new car seat no matter what. Your insurance may cover it

Re: Car Seat Inspection (after an accident)
I didn't even think about insurance covering it. I will have to ask. It just stinks b/c it's a Britax and I just put it in the car last week.

Re: Car Seat Inspection (after an accident)
NHTSA guidelines:
NHTSA recommends that child safety seats do not automatically need to be replaced following a minor crash.
Minor crashes are those that meet ALL of the following criteria:
-The vehicle was able to be driven away from the crash site;
-The vehicle door nearest the safety seat was undamaged;
-There were no injuries to any of the vehicle occupants;
-The air bags (if present) did not deploy; AND
-There is no visible damage to the safety seat
ETA, I would read the manual and see if it differs from the above.

Her airbags deployed, so I think that means she should replace it..
My friend's car was totaled b/c the airbags deployed.
