Are there places that will install my car seat for me, or just inspection sites?
Is there somewhere I can go where they will actually install the seat from start to finish, or do I have to install it and then go get it inspected?

Go to SAFEKIDS.ORG and see if there are any events coming up where they will do child safety seat inspections. There they will instruct you how to install the car seat properly and check it.
Otherwise call your local police station and they may be able to point you in the right direction.
DH is a PO and he just went for training for this. He is now certified, but I don't think we live close 
DH just told me that you need to know how to put it in and take it out being the operator of the car, but they will instruct you all the way

I need to have it installed too..especially since I dont know how and we didnt get instructions, b/c we got the seat and bases from a friend.

Not to sound stupid - but shouldn't you know how to install it yourself, in case you need to move it to someone else's car?
It would bother me not to know how to do it - but I would definitely want someone to check it.

I went to Hassell Auto Body on Friday. They had a training session and they installed in, then showed me how to take it out and put it in properly. They had me do it too but since i am due in 10 days, I couldnt really get the leverage to tighten it enough so they re-did it. You can call Hassell to make an appointment - they are on Rt 109 in West Babylon... 631 587-5500

My Dh did it the day I came home from hopsital.
Its not as bad...try it yourself and if it becomes too much a local precinct can help and see if its secure.

Thanks all..DH just installed ours, and he seems to think he did it right, but I'm going to get it inspected anyway. It seemed way too simple...for some reason I assumed it would be harder then it is...

I would try to install it myself but definitely make sure to get it inspected as they say that 90% of people who install it themselves do so incorrectly
