caribbean beach resort disney
has anyone stayed there before? We've done AoA in the family suites and really liked it, but I was comparing the suites with the CB resort and CB is actually cheaper and seems like a much nicer resort. We want to be on the skyliner route because i've heard it's incredibly convenient and very quick. I just want to hear some thoughts from people here first though!
I was also looking at Saratoga Springs, but Im still not sure if we need a big suite. It's just the two of us and 1 DD, and she was so exhausted in disney that she would pass out anywhere. Considering the Contemporary too because of the monorail convenience, but it's a little pricier than I would like.

Re: caribbean beach resort disney
I stayed this past summer in one of their pirate rooms. The rooms were OK. Def clean, but refurbished rooms. Theme beds were cute. Size was OK... like a basic hotel room. The resort is very long... so ask to stay near whatever you need (pool, main house).
The kids had a great time and really loved the pool, s’mores and movies outdoors.
The bus transportation was a bit crowded going to the park but better if you walk to the first stop so it doesn’t fill. The skyline wasn’t up fully yet. Best bus transportation was from French Quarter. I’m sure taking the monorail is easier.
Honestly, I thought it was fine and good for the price. For the price of the Contemporary, I want to be at a full service, luxury, beachfront hotel (where I’m paying that price for the resort all day) with a suite. Disney just isn’t that. Monorail access isn’t worth that $$$ to me... I’m a chill traveler and have gone solo w multiple kids and the transportation was just fine. I never stayed at AOA so cant compare the 2.

Re: caribbean beach resort disney
If doing CB I would just book a preferred room because the resort is very spread out

Re: caribbean beach resort disney
I stayed there this past February. I really liked it. We had a preferred room location so that really helped. We were steps away from the Port Royale bus stop and the main pool. Pool was good my son loved the slides. The only thing I didn't love that much was their quick service restaurant. We went before skyline was open but never had a problem with the buses. The lobby smells amazing. I think with this hotel it all depends on where your room is.
We stayed at AOA the trip before in the mermaid rooms and the walk back to the room was a long after a full day at the back.

Re: caribbean beach resort disney
Question for those who take the buses to Disney. Where do they drop you off? Do you still need to take the ferry/monorail to the gate?
We went last year just for a couple of days and stayed at Pop, but drove and parked at the parks. We will be planning our next visit in a few months so I'm starting to think about where to stay.

The buses drop you off close to the main gate. But when taking the bus back you could be in for a long walk because you have to walk to a specific area for your resort where the bus picks up (I think the values are further away). We stayed at a skyliner resort and we loved taking the skyliner to HS and Epcot. No long lines, no need to fold up a stroller (single stroller- doubles you had to).

We stayed at Pop but we didn't need any frills- we literally were there to shower and sleep and spent all day at the parks. If you are going to spend more time at the resort then you could go with a moderate or deluxe to enjoy it more... The skyliner resorts are Pop, AOA, CB and the new Riviera resort.

POP and AoA share the skyliner entrace correct? Was it a far walk? I wasn't sure about staying at AoA again this time because i didn't know how far it would be to the skyliner

It really wasn't a far walk at all, we stayed in the 60's section (preferred room) so all we had to do was walk toward the bridge that was connecting POP and AOA which was close. I guess it really depends on which building you stay in. The skyliner station is in between the two resorts as you go and cross the bridge.
