Disney's Carribean Beach Resort?
Hs anyone stayed? How is it? Is there access to the monorail? We will be going with 2 year old DS in May and want to stay somewhere not too pricey and close to the monorail. Thanks!

I have stayed there 2 times. it's not a monoral resort. You take busses everywhere, or to the monorail. I think it's nice, but it isn't my fav hotel by far.

Re: Disney's Carribean Beach Resort?
Caribbean Beach is a very large resort and has an internal bus system as well as the buses that take you to the theme parks and Downtown Disney. It's one of only a couple of resorts where I suggest a Preferred location room to clients.
It's not on the monorail system as it's an Epcot area resort, not Magic Kingdom.
Your least expensive option near the monorail is Wilderness Lodge but it's not actually ON the monorail. Try a Garden View room at the Polyneisan or the Garden Wing at the Contemporary for the least expensive rooms on the monorail.

Re: Disney's Carribean Beach Resort?
I stayed there but many years ago with family - we rented a car so the buses weren't an issue. It is an okay resort. The downside of it is that it is very very spread out and when looking at mods recently I read that some rooms are so far away that people take a shuttle to get to the food court.
Unfortunately there is no lesser expensive option if you want to be on the monorail. They are much more expensive hotels - there are only 3 that are on the monorail - all deluxes - The grand Floridian, The polynesian and the Contemporary (then there is bay lake tower villas). The cheapest is probably a garden wing room at the Contemporary, followed by garden view rooms at the poly.
The wilderness lodge (and AKL) are the 2 cheapest of the deluxes - and will definitely cost you a couple hundred more than the mods but it is right near the MK and there is a boat that connects you to the MK (there is a bus too I believe) - otherwise you will have to take a bus everywhere else. But this would bring you closer to the MK with only a little step up in price compared to the monorail hotels which really charge a big price tag for the convenience of being on that monorail.
If you want a smaller mod - check out POFQ which is the smallest - or POR which is a larger resort but not as spread out as CBR.
The other option would be to rent a car - then you can come and go on your own terms - but then you will have to most likely deal with trams, etc.

I'm staying with my family for 6 weeks, so I'm driving down and will have my car. The price is good for CBR, I can't really do anything more expensive because my sister is going with her 3 kids and 2 step kids, so I have to keep it kind of affordable for her. We will be staying 3 nights, so I guess it's something to look further into. Thanks for the info!
Isn't there another option of renting a timeshare? Or is that a bad idea?

Re: Disney's Carribean Beach Resort?
We just got back from there exactly a month ago. Its ok. IT was huge and very spread out and everything was far to walk too.
Would I stay there again....maybe.
But there are other resorts I prefer over it. We stayed in the Wilderness Lodge once and LOVED it there.
But with that being said the price is right at CB. Next trip if I could afford to stay in a deluxe I 1000% am. But if I cant I would consider CBR again. HTH
Oh...and we were there in January so couldnt take advantage of the pools etc. In the summer I bet you it is a great place!

Re: Disney's Carribean Beach Resort?
CBR has a lot of nice updated rooms and updated pool.
At such a huge resort, for future reference, it often makes sense to get a preferred room.
