Carpet or Area Rug in nursery
We have hardwood floors throughtout our house with an area rug in the living room. At first I was thinking of putting a comfy large area rug in the nursery, but not am starting to think a carpet would be cozier. So area rug or carpet?? The nursery isn't overly big so I doubt it would be too costly. If so, who would you recommend?

We have carpet. Will you have a separate playroom or will you be playing wi DC in their room? If you will play in room I suggest carpet it will be much more comfortable when laying on the floor and safer for baby.

Re: Carpet or Area Rug in nursery
I have an area rug in the twins nursery and it worked out great. They were huge pukers and I am so glad I got an inexpensive area rug that we can replace easily.

Area rug. Hardwood floors are much cleaner than carpeting.

We have an area rug. I prefer that because it's easier to replace if it gets yucky and if you get one large enough it can cover most of the available floor space

Re: Carpet or Area Rug in nursery
although hardwood is so nice and i love it, ive always liked carpet in bedrooms because its warm and cozy feeling however, having pets and them getting sick more than a few times on carpets was too much and we switched to wood floors in our bedroom. sorry to compare pets to babies but i would think that a baby would have similiar issues with getting sick or messes from eating/drinking on the carpet. after a while, its not even worth it to clean the carpet and its just dirty and hard to get really clean. so i vote hardwood floors with an area rug that you can more easily clean or dispose of and get a new one if it gets dirty or whatever. that is what we are doing too.
eta: also (im in Real Estate so its always on my mind lol), for resale value, hardwood is also better than carpet almost every time.

We have hardwood in our whole house. We will put an area rug in the nursery (maybe) and those foam puzzle mats in the playroom. We will probably get an area rug for the den too since they will be playing there too.

Carpet or Area Rug in nursery
I love the way hardwood looks but the carpet is just such a more cozy feel... I picked a shaggy type of rug for dd room and it's so soft that I love laying her right down on top of it... No worries about any hard areas

Bissell spotbot... It is a lifesaver. Worth it's price 100x over. I've gotten out every stain known to man. My cat throws up all the time and that machine couldn't be made any better!

I'm not a fan of wall to wall carpet. I've got hardwoods and area rugs in every room!

I did not want to wreck my hardwood floors by putting carpeting in, we plan to get a very large area rug...

Re: Carpet or Area Rug in nursery
I like carpet in bedrooms and dens. I love my hardwood too but I prefer it in formal areas only, hardwood in a bedroom feels very cold to me. I like the coziness of carpet.

Carpet. DD is a climber. If DD2 is also, I'm glad she had something soft to land on when she falls!
