Re: Carpeting Question

We had Empire Carpet come into our home last night to see samples and get a $$$ estimate, and they're prices rocked and they're installing the carpet tomorrow!

We were stunned at the price is all and availability for installation - we had gone to carpet depot and they needed 3 weeks to get it all together. Their commercial is no joke now (as I once thought it was!).

Re: Carpeting Question

Are they really cheaper? I had them come to our house for window treatments and their price was outrageous.

I'm not sure how competitive they are for window treatments (I did't even know they did them) but carpet they are one of the best priced companies

Re: Carpeting Question

We got some carpet last year from Empire and it worked for us because we had a specific timeframe to meet. This year we shopped around and got a much better deal at our local carpeting store - Pat's in Bay Shore on Saxon Avenue.

My sister bought all her carpet in the past at Montauk Carpets on 110 and I hear they have great prices.

Re: Carpeting Question

I had an issue with Empire - they were charging me over 800 for a room that I got carpeted for less than 400 from Carpet Depot. I thought they were a complete rip off and the woman who came to my house was an a$$.

ETA: Carpet Depot installed the next day!

I would just shop around for the best prices personally!

We used G. Fried in westbury for every room in our house but one.

We used Carpet Depot in wantagh for that one room and they were nice but tried to rip us off with how many square years we needed! I guess they thought we werent able to calculate that ourselves Chat Icon

Re: Carpeting Question

Well we shopped around today and went with Montauk Carpet on Rt 110. They gave us a price of $1,400 for 3 large bedrooms with closets included. We got a carpet called Beach House (which is like a neutral beige with specks of color in it). He's coming to measure on Friday and the carpet will take 10 days to come. I really wasn't in a rush, since we need to paint the last 2 bedrooms. I'm just rushing my dh to paint (that's why I wanted to look for carpet)Chat Icon

My mother got an outrageous price from Empire for 4 bedrooms and went to Montauk carpet and got great deals their. The rooms aren't huge and she was able to get reminants for I think 1 or 2 rooms. I also used them for work and was always very happy with them.
