Carter's tagless label caused rashes***UPDATE***

If you have any garments from Carter's FALL 07 line, they've been proven to cause rashes. If you call them and complain, they will send you a mailing label to return the clothes and cut you a refund check. The labels must have the white solid background. Here's a link to their site re this matter:

carters labels

****UPDATE******

Just wanted to say what a stand up company Carters is. I sent them back a ton of clothes that had the bad labels and just received a FAT check from them to reimburse me. I expected a hundred or 2 and got WAY more than I had anticipatedChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

These items were recalled last October. CPSC Recall on Carter's Clothing

At the time there was an article being forwarded aroung (and may have been posted on here) that mentioned other clothing lines also - I think Old Navy, Circo, etc. that used the same chemicals in their "tagless" tags. It showed pictures of the rashes. It was pretty scary! If I can find the article with the other brands, I'll post it.

Here are some articles that mention other brands and show pictures:

Carters, Circo and Gerber

Carter's

More pictures and explanation of chemical causing this - Phthalates!

The label itself has a white box that the words are printed in. click on the link in my 1st post. I'm pretty sure they have a picture of it. Jack is now 2 1/2....the majority of what was sent back to them was 18 mos

My DD was born in Nov 2007 and we had tons of these items and she had problems with them so I ended up tossing alot of them but I did have some left like sleep sacs and I'm awaiting my check. My DS's closet was almost all carter's up until 24 months and well my DD's has been all gymboree because I gave up on the brand when she was born and had issues.

Re: Carter's tagless label caused rashes***UPDATE***

im in shock bc dd has had this rash on her neck since she started wearing clothes and we just thought it was heat/sweat related bc lets face it she is chubby and has rolls on her neck

but she has had this rash since then and it hasnt gone away and she is almost 8mos old and recently she has small splotches on her shoulders and mid back and it has spread to her whole back

the ped thought it was heat related eczema bc she also has it on her elbows but now that im looking at these pics it looks so similar to my dd

im going to not put her in any of her carters clothes/pjs and see what happens....if the rash goes away then we could finally know what the culprit is and at least i know i could send carters the clothes for a refund!

thank you

Is there a number you have to call first? Can you post the address to mail everything back to?

Is it just the onesie's or clothes (shorts, shirts, etc.) too?

ETA: Just clicked on the link above and got the address and #.

Re: Carter's tagless label caused rashes***UPDATE***

Just wondering if anyone else has had any luck returning their Carter's clothing?

I have a TON of Carter's stuff with that label. Although DS didnt have a reaction I dont want to chance it with the next DS. I called them and left a message today and am waiting for them to call me back.
