Cartlidge piercing....sorry to beat a dead horse!

I am having so many issues with this damn piercing, but love it to much that I don't want to get rid of it. Now I have a bubble which is right next to the earring and has grown to be the same size as the earring. How can I get rid of it?? It looks so ugly!! Chat Icon

Yeah a bubble is NOT a good sign. It is infected and should be removed. Go to the dr.

When did you get it done? I remember when I got mine done I got a big bubble and it got infected. use a q-tip and clean around it with peroxide and probaly not what your supposed to do, but I would try and squeeze the puss out.

That happened to me years ago when I first pierced it. It's infected. Try making a mixture of iodine & sea salt & rubbing that on a couple of times a day with a q-tip. It's going to burn like hell, but it works. If it doesn't clear up in a few days, call the doctor.

You've been having problems with this piercing for a few days now, right? PLEASE go to the doc before it gets worse.

Sorry, I should have clarified....its not a bubble filled with puss, its more of a bump, like a growth.....I looked it up and I think they're called keloids?? They're very common with cartlidge piercings but I have no clue of how to get rid of them.....it HAS to go, looks like a huge mole on my ear Chat Icon

My friend had this! She was actually allergic to the earring they used (even though it was surgical steel). She went on antibiotics and had the earring changed. She had to do the sea salt thing too. The keloid (sp?) eventually went down after 2 weeks.

Go back to the place where you got it done!!!!!!!

What are they going to do? Go to the doctor to find out once and for all what the problem is. I'm sure at this point, it's something easily treated -- but find out before it gets worse!

It's a keloid. The same thing happened to me, I was allegic to the post of the earring and had to go on antibiotics.

My piercing got infected about 5 months after I had it and I needed a lot of antibiotics for it. Go to the doctor.

My friend got a bubble that never went away even after removing the earring. A piece of his cartilage shifted-I'd go get it checked out.
