Anyone know anything about the area? Good, bad, whatever?

Does an apt renting at $450/mo in the "downtown" Cary area sound unusually low priced or about the norm?

TIA!

i don't know a ton about the area, but DH and i had researched it alot last year, and that does sound extremely low for that area. Cary is definitely one of the more expensive areas around Raleigh.

You don't really want to live in the downtown Cary area. It's not that nice. JMO! There are expensive parts of Cary, but not in that area.

DH and I were there in Sept to check out the area. it's really nice there. $450 does sound low, the apts we saw advertised (1 bed) started at around $600-$700. and yes, Cary is more expensive than the surrounding areas b/c it got voted one of the top places to live in the US 3 yrs in a row.

I agree it does sound very low. I was there this past weekend and Cary is a very nice place and also expensive. I will be going back there next month as well.
