DH and I will be going to North Carolina in January to check out the neighborhoods there and I just would like to hear some inputs about Cary. What do you think of it?

What do you think of it? we thought it was nice, there is an old part, newer and then there's the "urban sprawl" area that from what I hear from locals, just keeps growing. Apparently, Cary keeps annexing neighboring areas - since everyone wants to have Cary as an address (because of Money magazine rated it #5 place to live in the US).

We will do that, thanks!!! We have two friends who lives in NC. One in Cary and the other is in Clayton. I am not really fond of Clayton because it is outside of Raleigh and it is really country KWIM.
We will be looking in Atlanta as well.

We will be looking in Atlanta as well. oh yes... Clayton is like Fuquay Varina. very country. and it's amazing b/c they are both so close to Raliegh/Cary where it is completely suburban.

It is. Whenever I go to Clayton to see my friend I always make fun of her. She knows I do not like it too much. She is helping me alot with the different areas there. She told me Briar Creek is an exclusive area as well.

We visited in September. We liked Rolesville which was about a half hour away. We visted Cary, Apex and parts of Wake Forest. I loved it there. We liked a development called the Villages of Rolesville.

OK here is her reply:
It is rated as one of the safest cities in the US recently. It is very beautiful, lots of upkeep, there isn't a bad neighborhood there. Cary is the place to live in the Triangle.

I have a friend who lives in Raleigh and she said Cary stands for 'containment area for relocated Yankees'
she said she prefers where she lives more - not as 'hyped'

We just bought a house in Clayton and love the fact that it has alot of property and it's quiet.....but I can see someone who wants a suburban area thinking it is too country.....Our house is on a private road that doesn't have garbage pickup!
From talking to the "locals" down there, they actually think the people in Cary are "snobby"....... don't know why....
