cat grooming?
Our kitten's nails are constantly getting stuck on things (our clothes, furniture, etc.). Do you clip your cats nails or do you take them to a groomer? It seems like it annoys him to get stuck so often. TIA!

Re: cat grooming?
It depends on the temperment of the cat. If the cat is skittish, freaks out easily, squirmy etc I'd say go to the groomer or vet. But our cats are pretty good. I bought a nail clipper in petco and I hold the cat by the scruff of the neck and keep it calm while my husband clips their nails. We do it once every 2 weeks or so- or whenever we see them getting sharp and long. You just have to watch out for the quick- you can see it- it's the pink part. Just stick to trimming the clear part of the nail and you'll be fine. Do a little at a time and try to cut it blunt so it's not sharp We always give them treats afterwards as a reward.

Re: cat grooming?
I wrap my cats up in blanket like a baby
and take paw out at a time
and clip the nails
they even try to bite me
but I know for a fact my male cat is very well behaved at the groomer when he gets it done there

Re: cat grooming?
If you start now it will be easier. I do the same I bring him in the bathroom wrap a towel around him and take one paw out at a time... I make sure to clip his nails when he is not in hyper mode I usually do it before hes ready to take a nap he fights me less...
