Re: Catholic school vs. public school for pre school
From our experience with Kindergarten, I think Catholic schools do prep better than most of your local pre-schools. However if you have a child who needs the slightest intervention - whether it be with behavioral or learning disabilities, itl is not the place for them. We were one of many families that had problems with the meglomaniac principal at Trinity Regional. If they had a new principal I wouldn't hesitate to put my child there.

Re: Catholic school vs. public school for pre school
Before I got my first teaching job, I was a 1:1 aide at a Catholic School in Kindergarten. Granted it was ~15 years ago, but now that my own DS is in K, I see the public being the better place.
However if it was the difference of being full day vs. half day, it might be a decision maker (although DS is 1/2 day and we chose not to send him to full day - private, not Catholic)

I agree. We looked at many Catholic schools and had the same experience- they don't want to deal with any type of services.

Re: Catholic school vs. public school for pre school
I think it is really hard to say. I know in my district the public program is a lot more academic than the catholic program, and yet people still send their kids to catholic 'cause they don't want their kids mixing with those from the wrong side of the tracks.
