Are Pregnant women excused from fasting? I know children and the elderly and sick are??? I just don't know if I can go with 3 small meals... I get so dizzy!

Re: Catholics-Ash Wed. fasting question
I am not 100% sure but I would think we would fall into the "special" category. There is no way I will be fasting today bc I just can't go with just 3 meals

Yes. Pregnant women are exempt from Ash Wed and everything associated with the coming of Easter.

Re: Catholics-Ash Wed. fasting question
Forget it... I just found this..
"Those who are excused from fast or abstinence Besides those outside the age limits (14-60), those of unsound mind, the sick, the frail, pregnant or nursing women according to need for meat or nourishment, manual laborers according to need, guests at a meal who cannot excuse themselves without giving great offense or causing enmity and other situations of moral or physical impossibility to observe the penitential discipline."
So I will not eat meat but, If I need a snack, I'm going to eat.
I will have eggs for breakfast, ravioli for lunch and fish for dinner. For snacks I will try to eat some protein with Hummus or Nuts or something.

There is no way I could last on 3 small meals. Good thing it is official, thanks for posting the dispensation.

I am not going to have meat today or on Fridays all during lent. I'm not a big meat eater anyway and the thought of chicken, still, at 23 weeks makes me
