Cats and Sandboxes....i have a bizarre question....

Will two domesticated cats who have never toileted outside use a sandbox as a litterbox if it was in the house?Chat Icon

I had a fleeting thought to make an indoor sandbox area for my sensory seeking son and my DH said what am I going to do when our cats start cr@apping in it.....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My grandmother used to use sand instead of cat litter at her beach house. I think you cats will think its a new litter box.

I would keep a sandbox covered.

They could and likely would use it so if you must do it, it must be covered and they must be kept away.

Cats and Sandboxes....i have a bizarre question....

My other cat used a sandbox when I ran out of litter during a snowstorm.
Never hesitated, went about his business as usual.

If you do put a sandbox for your son, keep it covered when not in use.
