Cell phone fell in the pool today!
well, i am an idiot!
i was in my friends pool and had my cell phone on the ledge. i bumped into the ledge and into the pool the phone went  it does not work at all! i had to go out an buy a new phone tonight. i got the new LG Shine Slide, it's very nice.

Ugh that blows.
Did you have to pay full price or were you eligible for an upgrade?
A coworker once washed her cell phone. It was like 2 weeks old. She put it on top of her monitor at work (not a flat screen) for a week and it eventually dried it out. Phone worked perfectly for 2 years!

i actually was eligible for an upgrade so it worked out for me. i got a $50 rebate also and a decent price on the phone. also finally bought the insurance! i wanted to see if it would dry out but i figured that would take a while. my DH has medical issue's so i cannot be without my phone. it will probably work in a few days!

ugh... one day my phone was in my pocket and when I went to the bathroom it almost fell into a public toilet 
ever since then, I've needlessly paid for phone insurance 
it's true what the other posted said, sometimes electronics will work if given a week or 2 to dry out completely. my cousin revived his car alarm that way after it fell into a deep puddle.

I work for a wireless company and cannot stress enough how important it is to have insurance on the phones!

I think they will just give you the same one again.

i have at&t and was told that if you have the insurance and you phone gets damaged, stolen etc. they give you the same exact phone but you have to pay a $50 deductible.
my dad wants a new phone and told me that in a week or two if my phone dries out and it works, he wants me to give it to him
