Central Park Zoo
So, DH and I are taking DC (ages 2 and 4) into the city this weekend for the first time. We are going to the Central Park Zoo. Any other suggestions or tips for things to do around there? We were planning on driving. Is this a good idea? We will bring strollers for both kids.

Re: Central Park Zoo
I just went yesterday. There's a decently priced garage (relative to others right by the park) on 67th betw 5th & Mad. There's a fun park with a cool slide and sprinkler right at the 67th street entrance. Victorian Gardens at Wollman Rink is also cute for that age.
Beware though: IMO the children's zoo is a NIGHTMARE on weekends with a stroller (even a single!)

Re: Central Park Zoo
Yeah I agree, strollers are tough there. It's small and tight!
Bring a blanket and let them run around in Central Park. There are so many cool things going on there all the time.

Re: Central Park Zoo
We went last Saturday to Victorian Gardens and my 3 yr old had a blast
Both kids (age 1 and 3) loved running around the park
There are horse and buggy rides that the kids love
FAO Shwartz is a short walk away
have fun!

Re: Central Park Zoo
FAO and Victoria Gardens! You are going to have a lot of fun.
If you want to go north, you can go to the lake on 74th. DS loves feeding ducks there.
There is also a playground on 63rd, 67th and 72nd.

Re: Central Park Zoo
What is Victoria Gardens? I have never heard of it. DO you think we should skip the zoo and just check out Central Park?
Is there anywhere cute for the kids to eat lunch/snack around the park?
Thanks for all the information.
