Cervix lengthened yesterday, but have front and back cramps now (Update: Called doc)

I called Dr. Pillitteri and he called me back. Says it sounds like a classic case of hemorrhoids, especially with everything I'm taking. He gave a medical term to the fact that I got light headed when I was "going" - and said it's normal when you find that you have to push to go. Obviously, he said try not to force. I take Colace 2 times a day... I'm going to up it to 3x.

Thanks, ladies. I knew I should call... I just didn't want to risk having to go to the office or the E.R.

-----------------

I don't get it...

I was on bedrest all week and was so happy that my cervix lengthened after seeing the doc yesterday morning.

My middle of the day yesterday, I had lower back cramping. It lasted into last night and this morning I have constant cramping all around the front and back lower area - like period cramps.

I don't get it. If I didn't JUST see the doc yesterday, I would call, but what will they say after I saw them less than 24 hours ago?

Maybe it's gas? Chat Icon I can't tell the difference sometimes!

What do you think?

ETA: Okay... this post has officially entered the TMI category with this new info. I just went #2... each time I "went", I felt light headed, like I was going to pass out. Then, when I looked at what I had "done", I saw blood in the stool. What on earth can that mean? And do I call the doc to check? Just really weird...

I'm so sorry you're feeling like this after getting good news.

Could the blood be from hemmies? TMI but were you straining?

I was straining a bit yesterday, but not today so much. And... wow... TMI... I would think maybe hemorrhoid blood would be on the t.p. more than IN the stool? Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm just afraid that if I call, they'll make me either go in or go to the hospital, which I don't want to do.

My doctor has ALWAYS said....no matter how stupid you may think it is, call. Always call. Id call. It's not like your having a normal pregnancy without any issues, you have issues. Anything can be anything. Don't feel bad about calling, just callChat Icon

Feel better

In no w ay is this meant to scare you....its just something i don't take for granted anymore being a first time pregger.
When i had my whole pre term labor scare for like two months before i was told yea its just gas never being preg before i agreed ....we lied that last appointment to get a soon and they hooked me up to the toco machine for the first time when i found out no gas contractions. Im just using this as an example not saying ur not experiencng being backed up or even gas. ....reason i bring it up is don't worry about what the dr thinks i don't care if you left two hours ago its always better to call and be safe for your own piece of mind.

Also def not good to strain especially now that u say ur cervix lengthened when you call see if you can take a 100 mil stool softener ...i was so scared to go to the bathroom when in the hospital but once u take that itfpdef helps i still take them every few days.....good luck and just relax take a breath and call your dr just so you can enjoy your weekend.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I know you were just there yesterday but I think you should call to report your symptoms, just to be safe. Were they alleviated at all by drinking water?

As far as blood, sometimes, if you have internal hemorhoids, it can be mixed in with stool so I wouldn't rule them out.

Glad you spoke with your Dr. Sorry it's hemmies but it's good it's not more serious considering everything else you've been through.

My OB said taking 2 senekot at night in addition to the colace will help withthe going. Also Milk of Magnesia if the other stuff isn't working.

Feel better!
