Change of Address - DMV and STAR
I closed on my house July 10th and changed did the whole change of address for a new license on-line with DMV. Well its now been 6 weeks and i still haven't received my new license. Can I still apply for the STAR program? How long did it take for you to get your newe license? Thanks!

Re: Change of Address - DMV and STAR
Good question. I changed my address about a month ago with DMV and got my new registration but no license. Do you need it for star? I thought you just needed the registration.

You don't need your license for STAR. File for STAR now because it won't go into effect until the following year.

You need proof that the house is your legal residence. It doesn't need to be a driver's license. It could be registration, copy of utility bill, etc.
ETA: You can also check the DMV website to see when they mailed your new license out.

Same thing happened to me! I called DMV and they said it's changed in the computer but in order to get a new license you have to pay $17.50 for a replacement.

Re: Change of Address - DMV and STAR
Thanks everyone. No I didn't pay for a new license. I just thought they would automatically send one to me. I'm going to have to check out their website and call to be sure. Thanks for the info!!

Re: Change of Address - DMV and STAR
I didn't need a license for STAR. I changed my address with the DMV but since my license was expiring a few months later, I didn't see the need to pay for a new one that would be good for only a few more months.
I had no issues.
