Re: Changing your baby?

Desitin, Powder or nothing depending.....DS has hadrly ever gotten diaper rash, but if he loks red I go for Desitin at night I use a little powder, but otherwise nothing.

Re: Changing your baby?

They recommend the Vaseline so young b/c the poop is tar-like and the Vaseline makes it easier to wipe off. Once it becomes normal poop, you don't need the Vaseline anymore. I don't remember when we stopped, probably at a few weeks old.

We use nothing on DD's butt. I wouldn't use anything unless there's a specific problem happening.

Hum......now that say that............that's right!! Would make diaper changes quicker & easier without it! At 8 weeks I am still doing it!!

We never did that. Plus, I'd be a little hesitant putting too many petroleum products on a newborn. I'm sure there's healthier creams you can use that would give the same benefits.

Yes, I guess DD was about a few weeks old. The nurse at the hospital told us to use vaseline, but when mentioned to the doctor he said no need. We don't use anything now.

We did for a few weeks then we stopped. It makes it easier to clean up the poop.

Re: Changing your baby?

I don't use anything unless I see signs of redness, which I hardly ever do. I'll use A&D or Desitin or Balmex.
