Chantix
I just started taking this medicine today and I was wondering what people's experiences have been with this medicine. Also I am wondering if the side efffects were as horrible as I have heard they are!

three people in my family have quit smoking using chantix - no side effects other than that cigarettes may taste strange while you are still smoking

My brother had been smoking two packs a day for 12 years and took Chantix for one month...and has never looked back. he's tried so many other times to quit with other things and he said that this by far was the easiest way to quit.

FH used it and it really worked! He stopped taking it because his stomach would bother him for a little while after he took the pill... but I'm convinced that was all in his head because he heard that was a side effect.

My DH started on 1/1/08 and he's doing really well. We have heard that the worst of the side effects happen when you take the 2 tablets a day, but he hasn't had any bad dreams or night terrors yet. Alcohol is supposed to make it worse, but he had a few drinks yesterday and had a good sleep last night - thank goodness!

I know of 2 people who used Chantix to quit successfully. Neither had side effects.

My husband took Chantix last year, and he hasn't had a cigarette since last March. He has no desire, and the smell totally turns him off now.
He doesn't recall any major side effects either.

I just got the prescription for this a few weeks ago I plan on starting it ina few weeks hopefully, glad to hear it does work

My husband uses it and the worst side effect he experiences is weird dreams.
