Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
Salad bar is ok. Every meal I've had there has been mediocre at best. I've been there several times, b/c it's my in-laws favorite place (don't ask). The food tastes over-processed and artificial...like most chains.

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
I have only been to the one in Holtville, I really liked it. The food was good and I liked the salad bar, I've never had anything bad there ever. However, if you are looking for a STEAKHOUSE, this is not it. It's not a steakhouse like Ruth's Chris, but for the price, I think it's good

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
I don't really care for it, its ok food, and I personally don't like salad bars, where I have to go get everything myself, if I'm out I don't exactly like making my own salad when I can do that at home

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
It is ok.. not great.. the salad bar is the best part. decent Hamburgers and Chicken.. but the food at most diners is actually better. The shrimp fest looks grea ton paper but really small in comparison and the specials are always small and steaks are not great

I went once. It was ok.
But if I had a choice i'd rather go to John Harvards for the micro brew beers which I love to sample.

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
Loved it, only have been to the one in Commack though. There's always a long wait on weekends, so either get there early or late or you will probably wait at least 45 minutes. If you have kids, they give the kids so much food for a great price. I thought the steaks were good and the salad bar is decent. If you sign up to be a charlie brown club member they send you coupons and discounts quite often. Also, every time you show your Charlie brown card you get points towards something free like appetizer or meals.

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
DH and I like going there once in a while (not our favorite place to go, but good every now and then. There's this bread in the salad bar that is absolutely delicious. It has some nuts and raisins in it. I hadn't tasted anything like it elsewhere...very yummy!

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
I hate salad bars - they totally skeeve me out, so I wouldn't be thrilled if that were the main draw. I went there once. Food was mediocre.

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
Why I think it's gross: We had to go there once for FIL's birthday. It was his birthday, he chose the restaurant.
Some really large man was skimming the salad bar....with his EXPOSED stomach. It was hanging out of the bottom of his shirt and dragging on the lip of the salad bar. A woman on line alerted a waiter and the waiter seriously just laughed at her and said "that's not the worst that's happened - don't worry about it."
Sooo DH and I stepped away from the salad bar. We ordered off the regular menu - I got the same as FIL - a steak of some sort. It was so bad, there was a crunchy thing running through the meat, and the inside wasn't fully cooked.
DH ordered chicken fingers because he doesn't like much steak and they were hard.
Never again!

Re: Charlie Browns the restaurant?
I've been there many times because DH's grandpa & aunt always want to eat there. They belong to the restaurants handshake club for frequent diners. I really don't think C.B.'s is a steakhouse, rather it's more like a Chilie's but the taste & quality is not as good. The salad bar is HUGE and quite varied. The only thing I can rave about is the raisen walnut bread (available at the salad bar).
