Charlie had her two week check-up today and I'm worried
My little piggy, who eats all day long and is extremely unhappy if she's NOT eating, gained only 1/2 of an ounce from last week
She has been spitting up (and projectile vomiting) the last 2 days so we are hoping its from that.
The dr. said she might be overeating and to limit her, wether she cries or not. She eats anywhere from 3-4oz every 3 hours (I know because I pump) so he said to try to limit it to 2oz (if by bottle) or 15 minutes of BF'ing every hour and a half to two hours. Basically smaller feedings but more frequent.
She goes back for a weight check in another week.
I'm going to stop pumping and just follow her lead with BF'ing, but will limit her so maybe she will stop throwing up. I'm just so worried that somethings wrong. She does have regular poop and pee diapers and the dr. really didnt seem concerned, soI'm trying not to be.

Don't worry yourself too much just yet. My DD was a slow gainer and my son is a chunk. All babies are different so try not to compare her. It sounds like you BFing plan is a good idea vs bottle feeding. I think they definitely can take in too much with bottles when they're that young. Hang in there.

at DS's check up after we left the hospital, he had lost weight, didn't even gain 1/2 an ounce. I wouldn't worry yet.
born- 7lbs1oz home- 6lbs 11oz first check up- 6lbs5oz
at his one month, he then gained almost 2lbs!

Try not to worry. I know that's easier said than done.
Remember BF babies don't tend to gain as much....as long as she's having enough pee and poop diapers and she IS gaining, not losing....don't worry too much, even with the spitting up.

Hmmm I HIGHLY doubt she's overeating if she's not gaining weight even with throwing up. I responded o one of your other posts-are you eating dairy? Did you ever try to cut out dairy with your other kids?

Re: Charlie had her two week check-up today and I'm worried
Hang in there. IMO any weight gain is a good thing. Ryan very slowly gained back to his birth weight. But then quickly after was gaining an insane amount of weight, sometimes even 2lbs a month, I EBF'd.
Are you eating any "gassy" or food sensitive foods? Such as any greens, milk, etc? Maybe she has a slight food sensitivity which is causing her to spitup.
I would do what the ped said and see if it helps with the spitting up after 2 days. If not, I would start to look at the foods you are eating. Could be something with your diet.

We did try cutting dairy out with my son. I havent tried yet with DD since the spitting up only started 2 days ago.
I have been very careful about what I'm eating in terms of gassy foods or things that might upset her stomach. I actually had a breakdown yesterday because i am really limiting myself and I feel like i cant eat anything I like.
I'm trying to limit her today since her appointment and I can tell she is still hungry but after a few minutes she calms down, so maybe it takes a few minutes for her to feel full? She has spit up - but only regular amounts - no projectile. We'll try this for a week and hope for good news at her next appointment!
Thanks ladies!
