Charlie Sheen arrested for domestic violence.
Charlie Sheen was arrested Friday at 11:20 a.m. on domestic violence charges.
The Two and a Half Men star was booked for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief, according to a spokesperson for the Pitkin County Sheriff's Department in Aspen, Colo.
"Carlos Irwin Estevez, also known as the actor Charles I. Sheen, was brought to the Pitkin County Colorado Jail for booking and incarceration following his arrest by the Aspen Police Department,” Pitkin County Sheriffs Office patrol director Jeff Lumsden said in a statement.
The actor's rep, Stan Rosenfield, tells PEOPLE, "Do not be mislead by appearance. Appearance and reality can be as different as night and day. It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion."
Sheen, 44, spent Christmas in jail after an alleged scuffle with his wife, Brooke Mueller. He is being held with no bond, and he will remain in jail until his court appearance due to Colorado law which mandates a protection order between those arrested for domestic violence and their victims.

I never liked him. I read an article that said he reportedly made a nasty reference to Denise Richards' mother having cancer when she was sick before she died. If thats true, no matter how bad things are in a marriage, who does that?

UPDATE 7:02 PM PST: Charlie has been released from the Pitkin County Jail. He posted $8,500 bond after speaking to a county judge.
Sources tell TMZ ... There was contact between Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller -- but the issue will be who started it.
We're told Mueller called 911 claiming Sheen assaulted her. But we're told Sheen told law enforcement that Brooke was the aggressor and he was just fending her off.
The "Two and a Half Men" star was arrested this morning in Aspen, Colorado for felony second degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief -- a misdemeanor. Sheen will remain behind bars until he sees a judge.

Alcohol a Factor ... But Not for Charlie Sheen

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Brooke Mueller was legally drunk when she called 911 on Charlie Sheen.
Sources say authorities gave both Charlie and Brooke blood alcohol tests. Brooke registered a .13 while Charlie registered a .04.
We're also told Brooke recanted her story to a female officer just before the bail hearing, telling the cop she was drunk when she made the 911 call. Nevertheless, law enforcement sources say police will still pursue the case -- at least for now.
We've also learned Sheen has hired well-known Colorado attorney Richard Cummins to represent him. Charlie's court date is set for February 8.

I think there is definately more to this story! Also I read they were already going to get a divorce and were seperated before this happened.

While it stinks for him since it sounds like there is way more to the story, I like this law.
