Cheap centerpiece ideas anyone?
We are having DD's christening in our backyard. We are renting a tent and tables and chairs. I feel like we should have some sort of centerpieces on the tables. Any ideas for something inexpensive? I am so not creative

Can't go wrong with a potted plant or flowers...
You could also make your centerpiece out of favors, like a lollipop tree etc....

We did a potted plant for DD's first b-day party too...got adorable polka dot pots at Michael's for $5 on sale (they have them again this year, I saw them the other day). Then got gerber daisies to go in them, super cute.

We got those little lanterns that hold a candle from IKEA - they were less than $5 each I think.

Re: Cheap centerpiece ideas anyone?
How about getting shallow bowl/vase and fill half way with water and put 1 or 2 flower tops in so they are floating. I would do maybe orchids. While they are expensive per stem, you get so many flower per stem so it comes out cheaper. If you do orchids, you could put some pebbles on the bottom. I think that would look so pretty. Michael's and AC Moore always have those 40 or 50% off coupons and you can just print them out. You cant use them all at once, they need to be separate orders, but who cares if you can save yourself some money.
If you do potted plants, instead of transferring it to a pot I would wrap it in pink tulle. I would just add a clear plastic dish to the bottom so water doesn't get on the table then wrap it. Maybe do a perennial instead of annual so it keeps coming back each year for your guest, kind of like a remembrance of it.
For DS's christening which was in Sept. I did terracota pots which I painted blue and white. Then DH and I made chocolate lollipops in different flowers. Them came out so cute. My godmother had them in her car durning the ceremony which was early (10:45am) and they all melted by the time we got to the restaurant which was following the mass. So I don't think I would go that route if you are having it outside.

a potted plant
Yes with a little ribbon across the top of the pot! Perfect and totally reusable and most importantly NOT a waste of money!!
