cheap place to park in the city?

I know it's all very expensive, but are any cheaper than the next?

Depends on the area. I worked in midtown by Grand Central and the garages charged around 30 to $40 a day but would drop to 18-$22 a day if it was closer to 1st or 2nd Avenue.

I found that the ICON parking garages were slightly cheaper than the ones run by Central Parking or Kinneys...basically if the garage is small (like underneath a residential building or nowhere close to commercial establishments like Starbucks, Duane Reade, nail salons, etc) they tend to be cheaper.

There is a web site that actually lists the average prices if all the parking garages in NYC but I don't remember the URL anymore (was bookmarked on my work computer but I deleted it nice I got transferred to my company's Long Island office).
