Cheap Wild Alaskan Salmon?
King Kullen has it on sale for $4.99/lb this week. Is there a catch to this? They never have wild alaskan salmon on sale so cheap. Also, the type of salmon is silverbright if that matters. I'm used to seeing sockeye in the store and have never heard of silverbright.

the catch is probably that it is very close to turning bad, so if you do buy it I would freeze it IMMEDIATELY. but for that price, I would get it.
"Silver-bright" is the commonly used term for top quality ocean-run chum; the skin on this fish is shiny silver. "Silver-brights" should not be confused with "silver salmon" which is another name for coho

I bought the fish already and grilled it. It tastes really mild compared to other salmon. My kids liked it a lot better than sockeye. I'm definitely going to buy it again (especially since it's on sale again for $4.99)!

Silverbrite or chum salmon are the least commercially valuable salmon.
