East braces as killer storm moves through Plains
The Northeast braced for severe weather that could bring severe coastal flooding, power outages and more than a foot of snow in some places. "There is potential for a very bad storm," said Joseph Williams, rescue chief in Suffolk County, New York. The unusually violent spring storm rattled Gulf states with thunderstorms, raked Texas with high winds and was blamed for five deaths.

Gov. Eliot Spitzer said some low-lying areas of Long Island may need to be evacuated, and he deployed 3,200 members of the National Guard to areas predicted to be in the storm's path.

Yup, I know a bunch of guys headed back to NY from a training weekend and have been informed they will be mobilized throughout the storm as necessary.

yea, so far just alot of rain and not too windy. i hope we dont lose electricity, DH is working late tonight and i'm scared of the dark! ...i'm such a big baby!
