Check out my Cricut Cake!

So I got my mom the cricut mini for Christmas. We're both big bakers and I thought it looked pretty cool. Well it was my friend's birthday this past weekend so we decided to break out the cricut and bake him a cake. It was actually pretty easy to do! Unfortunately, I had to go home and cook, too, so I didn't have much time to decorate too much. We did a simple paisley design in blue and green and piped on a border and "Happy Birthday". Naturally, since I was in a rush, I didn't get a picture of it whole and completely decorated, but check it out!

Oh and we also baked some chocolate chip cookies, too. And they just looked sooo good. We ate them when they were still hot and gooey out of the oven. YUM.

I wish you could bake for me!! Those pictures are making me crave sweets right now. Everything looks awesome. Can I ask what a cricut cake is though? How were those decorations made exactly? I can bake, but I am horrible at decorating. Is this a special tool or something?

Haha thank you! But trust me, you couldn't mess this up if you tried. It's actually a die-cut machine for gum paste. You buy different "cards" with different designs. We don't have many yet so this was one that came with the machine. You feed in a sheet of gum paste and program in what design you want and what size you want it to be and it cuts it out for you in the gum paste. All you have to do is carefully pop it out of the sheet and use simple syrup to adhere it to the cake. It was sooo cool and so easy to use! But the machine was expensiveeee! Chat Icon

I could imagine that the machine is Chat Icon but if you make a lot of cakes it seems worth it. It really makes a professional appearance! Thanks for clarifying how it works. Very interesting and if you use it again please post more pictures. It's very impressive.

Thanks! Yeah, we kinda wanted to do a little business on the side maybe. My mom and I love party planning so we thought this would be a helpful tool to have. We've taken a few of the cake decorating classes at Michael's, too, and they were excellent! You should look into it- they start from the basics like how to make the bags and frost the cake properly and everything.
