you'd have to climb through a window and dig out your front door first 
my dad told me he and my uncle had to do that once when my aunt & uncle lived in Newburgh years ago.
I teach for Newburgh SD.....I WISH we have that much snow again so I get some days off

wow.. yeah my bro is in the syracuse area and gets lake effect snow. they have a snow plow on speed dial. they get snow oct to may.
keep it up there. i don't want that much. however a snow day would be nice

We had 8 feet of snow back in 1995 I think? I was renting a 2nd floor apt in a house and the snow drifts were up against all the 1st floor doors and windows. My landlord was a little old lady and we couldn't get out of the house.
So I had to go out the second floor window onto the roof of the garage and jump into the snow drift. It was so much fun, I did it again - the Nestea plunge, backwards, off the roof.
