chicken pox shot
Has your child had this shot? do you plan on their getting it? how old are they? DS is 12 months old and goes to daycare 2 days a week so I think its a good idea and so does his Ped.

Re: chicken pox shot
DD is 16 months. She hasn't had it yet, but will be getting it within the next 3-4 months. She doesn't go to daycare, but if she did, her pediatricain would have done it at 12 months.

Re: chicken pox shot
Yes both my DD's got it with their MMR at their 12 month visit.
ETA: Both my girls are home with me. Neither had any kind of reaction besides a 99 degree temp for 2 days.

Re: chicken pox shot
DS is only 2 months but chicken pox isn't going to kill people. If he doesn't have it by the time he is 16 then I will get it if it isn't mandatory to go to school. Otherwise we will delay until 5.

Re: chicken pox shot
DS is getting it within the next few months. I cannot remember our schedule off-hand. He will be getting it on a day when he has no other shots. We are separating a lot of shots but we do not want long delays. I had a bad case of chicken pox at 11 months old. I believe that the vaccine is safe and that my child should not go through a full blown case of chicken pox or the risks associated with it.

Yep- I think its mandatory after the 1st b-day...????
My DS did not get the shot, since he ended up getting the chicken pox at 14 months old...
In order to attend daycare, we had blood work done to prove his immunity and our ped attached a note to be placed in his file.
