chicken pox vaccination...?
What is the time frame that your DC could get side effects or symptoms?
AND
IF your child had a reaction... what happened?
DD is getting it next week and then we have tickets to a show and its thanksgiving.. im worried that she may have a reaction

Re: chicken pox vaccination...?
DD just got it last week - the nurse said 3-7 days is the normal reaction period.

Re: chicken pox vaccination...?
My ped said 1-3 weeks after (with most 1-2 weeks after). DD got a fever and a rash 2 weeks after the shot.

Re: chicken pox vaccination...?
well she got about 103 - but acted totally normal - I kept her home until the fever went away - but she was smiling, playing normally. I didn't want to take her out - just on the off chance the ped was wrong and she was contagious with something other than a reaction to the shot. She has only had reactions to two shots - MMR and the chicken pox shot - nothing else.

Re: chicken pox vaccination...?
i looked this up after our conversation the other day b/c I had never heard that a reaction could appear up to a month later. Everything I read about it said 1-2 weeks, a few said up to 3. Most common side effect is soreness in the area and less common, but still common i a rash. I would think if anything she might be a little cranky, but nothing a little tylenol wont fix. Plus, she is a little older than kids usually are when getting that vaccince so maybe that will help too.
