This is so sad...I was there right after it happened. To see the white sheet over the little body was truly heartbreaking  I think my mom was the one quoted in the article as saying-this is a bad street-and its so true.

This is so tragic, that intersection is a disaster, the kids quoted in the piece are right. And the driver had a suspended license??? Ugggh.

Horrible I hate, Hate, HATE that intersection, there are like 3 major roads that cross there making it sooo dangerous. My prayers for that child's family

I was there too. At the time I didn't know what happened. I actually saw your mom when I got off the bus. Sadly, most of the kids that I witness cross that intersection are going against the light

You prob just missed me-I was getting on the train. I know..most of the kids do go agaisnt that light

that is so sad. i know that area and Cross Bay Blvd. is THE worst intersection in the world. a zillion for that poor little boy's family.

this upsets me because WHY IS A 9 YEAR OLD CROSSING a busy intersection alone?
My son is almost nine and i can't IMAGINE letting him walk around alone.
(I live in queens... not sure how I'd feel if we lived in the burbs...)

I didn't see it, but it's 10 blocks from my house. *I* won't even cross that intersection..let alone let a child do it alone.
