Child neurologist
Does anyone have any recommendations? My son is 12 and the other day we ended up in the ER because his cheek felt numb, he had a headache, and was dizzy. The ER said it was the start of migraines, the headache basically went away, but then yesterday night he was complaining that his head hurt again, and he had a black spot out of the corner of his eye, I held up my hand, and his vision was definitely impaired on that side, it lasted like two minutes, then was better. I'd rather be safe and take him to a neurologist to get checked out.

We went for an un-related reason, but we used Stony Brook Neurology---Dr. T. Binda was very nice and helpful. Dr. Andriola has a group I think and we ended up with Dr. Binda.
Offices in Setauket and Hampton Bays.

I use Dr Rosenn in Plainveiw. 516-336-2010. I have been taking DS there since 3 mons and have been very happy so far.
I also suffer from Migraines and have the spots. They started for me about the same age as your son.

That makes me feel so much better! I am a neurotic mess!! The ER didn't seem to concerned, but that is my baby, so I just want that confirmation :) Thank you!!

let me know if you have any questions about them....my sis and dad also ge them. All of ours have gotten etter we we got older so hopefully it will be the same for your DS

Not the same issue, but we also took DS to Dr. Rosenn when he needed his helmet. I really liked him.

Is Rosen easy to get an appointment with? I just called two different neurologist and they both told me they can't get him in until October! I do not want to wait that long at all!!!
I left a message with Rosen, the office didn't pick up, I am hoping they can get him in, otherwise I am going back to the ER and demanding an MRI.

I left a message with Rosen, the office didn't pick up, I am hoping they can get him in, otherwise I am going back to the ER and demanding an MRI.
You can always go to your primary doctor and have them order the MRI in the meantime and they will get the results. Then if anything shows up you also have that for more leverage to get a sooner appt.

we went to the Drs. at NYU Langone Center. Have your primary call and make the appt which will get you in Asap

When I went for the first time I got an appt later that week. But we waited in the waiting room for a long time. But the 2nd appt we waited 5 mins when we got there
