CHILD SAFETY ON VACATION
I know we've discussed this before, but what are some safety strategies youve used or heard of for children. God forbid they wander off, etc.
Do you put your info in their pocket? I dont know if this is a great or terrible idea..

Re: CHILD SAFETY ON VACATION
For me, I dress my son in bright colors and in an outfit that stands out. For example his Bright Yellow Shirt that says "dirt likes me" wherever we go when he is wearing it people comment so I figure for some reason it stands out on him and honestly I never see toddler boys in yellow always shades of blue, green or red. At the beach he wears crazy colored bathing trunks and or neon ones, we do this because God Forbid he falls off the boat, wanders off, gets taken his bathing suit is bright and can be seen and noticed in the water or at the beach. I've always been told to make sure my son knows his name and knows it clearly and knows to go by it at all times no matter what. When a a little boy went missing at a base activity here they shut the gates down and then ask every little boy who remotely looks his age what there name is no matter if they are walking out with a parent who looks like there carbon copy. Also I snap a picture of him on my cell if its a super crowded place.

Re: CHILD SAFETY ON VACATION
check out tottoos.org glow sticks on them at night dress the kids alike so your not guessing what they were wearing carry a picture In Dis they have never had missing children only missing parents Ive read that if a child ever gets lost they go into lockdown mode until the child is found (although I dont know how true it is)

Re: CHILD SAFETY ON VACATION
When my son was younger and we went to Disney, I ordered a child ID bracelet that velcroed on his wrist (or ankle) and inside the bracelet was a card that I wrote all of our contact info on. I'll see if I can find the website. I've also seen kids with contact info laminated on a small card and threaded through their shoe lace.

I take a picture of them on my cell phone before we go to parades, etc. Also my sister bought small luggage tags & had them on their belt loops.
