Childcare Question-Should I ask??

So, a little background, my family is VERY close. When I was a baby up until I was two, my great uncle took care of me while my parents worked.

I just found out that MY uncle (who I am very, very close to) is retiring this month, do you think it would be weird or out of line to ask him if he wanted to watch Christopher for a couple of hours a day?

He watched my little cousin (his grandson) when he was a baby for a couple of hours a day, so he has done this before, and he lives close by, so Chris could drop him off or he could come here or whatever.

The ONLY reason I feel bad asking is that I feel like he would say yes b.c he would feel like he had to and not because he would want to, KWIM?

Could you casually talk about how DH is going to drive the baby to you at work and hand him off and then see if your uncle offers to watch him instead?

Re: Childcare Question-Should I ask??

Definitely ask!! We just went through a similar situation w/DH's adult cousin, to watch the baby once during the week. We asked her outright, and said we'd offer to pay her, and we didn't want her to feel obligated, etc. She thought it over for a few days, and then said yes!

Definitely ask!! GOOD LUCK! Chat Icon

I probably woudn't ask if he was going to feel obligated to say yes. If he offered, I would probably take him up on it.
